 | Located in Gwent in Wales, Abergavenny is a market town and is twinned with Oestringen in Germany, Beaupreau in France and Sarno in Italy.
The town dates back to the Norman period and the remains of a Norman castle can still be seen here.
The town plays host to a Food Festival each September, which takes place in various locations across Abergavenny and attracts many visitors to the area.
Abergavenny seems to be popular with scriptwriters as it has been mentioned in one of the Harry Potter series of films and an episode of children's cartoon Dangermouse. |
